By working closely with doctors around the world, we have designed a unique mask for infants.
With a small volume (47 ml), our mask adapts perfectly to the shape of the face of infants (from 0 to 12 months) and helps to promote the inhalation of small respiratory volumes.
In newborns weighing less than 9 kg , due to their very low respiratory volume, the use of a metered-dose inhaler or a spacer device may prove unnecessary.
Clinical studies have shown that the deposition of inhaled medications in the lungs of newborns is less than 2% of the theoretically administered dose when using a pressurized metered-dose inhaler and a spacer device1.

One of the main explanations for this phenomenon is that newborns have a tidal volume that does not exceed, or is even less than, the dead volume of commercially available valved spacer devices2.
Thanks to its technical specifications, TipsHaler ® infant makes it possible to address this problem and to administer a significantly higher dose compared to a classic valved inhalation chamber.
Simply removing the inspiratory valve from the inhalation chamber eliminates the dead volume of the device, making it easier to use in newborns.

To prove its effectiveness, tests were carried out to compare the depositions between our TipsHaler ® without an inspiratory valve and with an inspiratory valve on a respiratory profile of a newborn.
Tests have proven that deposition on TipsHaler ® without an inspiratory valve is up to twice as high as that of a conventional inhalation chamber.
